Pippi Power = IQ + EQ + SQ.
If you want to speak powerfully, I have a formula for you. Pippi Power = IQ + EQ + SQ. Pippi Power is when you talk the high road. You can read more about Pippi here. So, Pippi Power = intelligence quotient + emotional quotient + strategic action quotient. Or, Pippi Power = intelligent thought + refined feeling + well chosen action. I talk about the three different power centers in my new eBook, Unite and Concur.
Many of us favor one power center over the other. Some of us live in our heads. Others react emotionally. Some of us plow through without thinking or consulting emotions.
Learn how to use all three power centers here. The article includes a poem I wrote about a presentation I gave last week that went well, but could have framed better to use all three power centers. If you've ever made a request or appeal that didn't have the impact you thought it should, this article will open your eyes.
Free 12 Secrets cassettes with $39 order
It’s time for me to bite the bullet. Cassette tapes just don’t sell anymore. So while supplies last, you can get The 12 Secrets to High Self-Esteem at no cost with any order of $39 or more.
That includes the Say What You Mean eCourse.
I have a pretty good inventory, so chances are the supplies will last. Just place your order and I’ll add the cassettes. The 12 Secrets is a fabulous resource.

PowerPhrase of the Week
Over a quarter million sold
Mary Ellen Merrigan, a marketing coach, commented on the fact that I refer to my book sales by saying “over 250,000 copies sold” in one place in my website, and by saying "over 300,000 sold" in another. She suggested I make it:
- Over a quarter million copies sold.
Funny how a quarter million sounds like more than 300,000 copies.
Poison Phrase of the Week
This is better than your last
one
George submitted a proposal to his boss that his boss liked very much. His boss let him know by saying,
- This is better than your last one.
The implication that the last one wasn’t at this level took away from the satisfaction of being acknowledged for the quality of this one.

Meryl,
What is the best way to request a promotion following a favorable review?
Meryl Responds,
The best way is to translate all the good you do into dollars and cents in a way that makes what you’re asking for sound like a pittance. Your efficiency, the disasters you prevented, the ways you saved money with measures like recycling etc.
Then be specific about what you want. And don’t be shy. It’s rare for anyone to lose a job for asking for “too much money.” You can always back down. Up is harder.

Privacy statement
I am in the middle of your Power Phrases book (which I am finding very valuable) and decided to check out your website to see if there were additional offerings to help me to practice and use power phrases regularly and naturally.
I came to your privacy statement as I was about to sign up for your weekly email and I clicked on it, expecting to see the legalese that these statements are always written in. Imagine my surprise and delight in finding the first ever privacy statement that as a layperson (not a lawyer) I could understand easily.
