I think there’s little doubt that the phrase,
- Honey we need to talk
send fearful shivers down many a man’s spine. It is often taken to mean they’re about to get their behinds handed to them.
Things can get so serious in our intimate relationships. That’s why,
- Honey, we need to play
can be just what needs to be said. Play can recreate the sense of connection and communion which makes the words “honey, we need to talk” far less fearful. Not that we ignore the issues, just that we recreate safety before we go there.
