June 22, 2010Things I love about my husband #2: He sees my soul
My husband and I were discussing our friends who were about to be ordained as ministers when he paused to say,
- You should become an ordained minister. You’re the most evolved person I know.
This comment meant more to me than when he told me my face shows no sign of aging (!). The man I live with sees and embraces my soul.
Yes, he also sees me as the gal who can’t quite get the tops tight on jars, (just as many of you see me as the writer who manages to slip a typo back into my writing no matterĀ how good my proofreader is.) But that doesn’t blind him to essence. (I hope it does’t blind you either.)
Do you see the soul in the people you’re close to? Or do things left ajar and typos block the view?
June 15, 2010Things I love about my husband series: #1. Carte blanche.
One of the things I love about my husband is he gives me carte blanche to post about him and our relationship. I don’t know if it comes from complete trust, being totally secure in his own identity or…could it be…detachment? I do know it gives me a wonderful sense of freedom.
Where are you hanging on with others when you could be giving carte blanche?
