A PowerPhrase Tutorial
If you watched my internet movie "A World of Truth", you know what my perfect world looks like. It is a world where the unrefined truth works every time. In the world we live in, it is in your best interests to edit. However, many of us edit so much that our truth is lost in the process.
To create your own effective PowerPhrases, become aware of what you would say in the perfect world where editing is unnecessary. Then edit your words to get the results you desire.
Step One:
Write a freeform letter saying what you would like to say if you didn't have to worry about the result. Don't worry about making sense, being consistent or being fair. Write what you think, feel, and want. When you write what you feel, consider:
1) What might I be angry about?
2) What hurts?
3) What am I afraid of?
4) What do I regret?
5) Is there something I feel shame about that I do not want to admit to myself or the other person?
6) What am I happy about?
When you write what you want, consider;
1) What do I want to have happen?
2) What do I want this person to know?
There is no need to pretend. This is simply information to be considered in discovering what you will say. When you're done, hit Next.
